3.0 Speech Direct - T-Pro Speech Remote Microphone

Speech Direct offers the option to connect your mobile device as an external microphone.

This works for both Android and iOS systems.

The application T-Pro Speech needs to be installed on your mobile device.

Get T-Pro Speech

If you are not reading this Help article on your mobile phone which you want to use as a microphone then switch to your mobile now.

  1. Go to the Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).


    ​

  2. Search for T-Pro Speech and install the app.

  3. Then, open the application to begin.

Next, you need to set up Speech Direct to work with T-Pro Speech.

In Speech Direct

  1. Go to Settings - Microphone settings.

  2. Select the option T-Pro Speech Remote Microphone.


    ​=> A QR code is displayed with your selection.​

  3. Save your changes.

  4. Scan the QR code with your mobile using the T-Pro Speech application and close the Settings window.

​=> Speech Direct now shows a QR code as the recording button.

Work with T-Pro Speech

If T-Pro Speech is not yet open on your mobile device tap on the icon.

The application does not require a login because it just establishes a connection to Speech Direct where you are already logged in.

  1. Tap on the Scan QR Code button.
    ​
    ​=> The app activates your camera.
    ​
    ​NOTE: On the first use you need to allow the application access to the device's camera and microphone.
    ​

  2. Point your mobile camera to the QR code; it will automatically scan the code.
    ​=> The app is now connected to Speech Direct and ready to record.
    ​

  3. Tap on the microphone icon.
    ​=> In recording mode the red icon is indicating input.
    ​


    You have the following options:

    - Pause the recording by tapping on the red icon.

    - Disconnect your mobile by tapping on Done.

    => The connection to Speech Direct will be dropped.

    The next time you want to use Speech Direct, click on the QR code icon to create a new QR code to establish a new connection.

Note that Speech Direct will remember the last microphone used after restarting the application. If you want to go back to using a different microphone then go back to the Microphone Settings and change to a different mic.
